We spent the first part of the day looking at apartments -- some new ones and returning to some that we have seen before and liked. We found one new one that we liked. Unfortunately, later we checked the on-line ratings and found some negative comments. So that has dropped in our evaluation though it may still be on the not-so-short list.
During the middle of the day, we drove south on some of the off-shore islands to Siesta Key. This is reported to be one of the best beaches in the U.S. Fortunately, it was a cool, cloudy day so not many people were at the beach and we could find a parking spot. The sand is very fine and very white. I can understand why it is so highly regarded as a beach. I suspect that on warm, sunny days it is packed even though there is a long distance from the beginning of the beach to the ocean.
