Looking Rather Than Shopping

We started the day by having a mattress set delivered to our apartment by three Elders.  Assuming that we ever move into a permanent apartment, we will need another bed.  The mission purchased one for us on sale at Costco.  There a three missionaries who work out of the office maintaining apartments, and they have a truck and trailer.  They were coming to Sarasota, so they brought our new mattress with them.  I wonder how they feel about maintaining apartments rather than teaching lessons to investigators, but they seem fine with their assignment.

We didn't have any appointments, meetings, or assignments for today, so I announced that I was tired of shopping.  Instead we drove to St. Armand's Circle, an area near one of the Sarasota beaches.  This is kind of a touristy area, sort of like Park City only much smaller.  As it turned out, there was an Art Festival going on with perhaps 200 booths.  I assume it was a "judged" festival because of the high quality (and prices).  Needless to say, there were a lot of people milling around and traffic was jammed, but we enjoyed walking around and looking.  Perhaps the highlight for us was seeing two people pushing small dogs in strollers rather than infants.

We then finished the day with some more shopping.  I purchased a desk chair and Renee bought shower curtains.  We ended the day with a nice fish dinner.  We went to the restaurant at about 4:30 pm because we had skipped lunch.  When we left the restaurant at about 5:30, there was a long line waiting to be seated!  We were glad we started dinner early.
